Getting Married at St Robert Bellarmine Parish

If you are thinking about getting married, here are some things you will need to know.

Wedding Guidelines Book

Marriage Preparation Form

1) Either the Bride or groom must be a registered member of St Robert’s. We cannot by church law marry anyone who is not a parishioner. If you are from out of town but need to get married here due to family please see number 7.

2) Marriage prep takes about 9 months. The outlines for the parts of the preparation process, please see the attached wedding guidelines handbook. These requirements are for our parish and meet the requirements required by our diocese, Kansas City-St Joseph.

3) Weddings can take place almost any day of the year, with a few exceptions. We discourage weddings during Lent, because there are many things you cannot do during that season, for example; no flowers in the church. Weddings cannot take place during Triduum, Holy Thurssday-Easter Sunday or on Christmas Day.

4) No date can be set until marriage prep has begun.

5) The first step to start the process is to download the information form and call Patrick in the church office to set up an appointment to meet.

6) Guidelines on planning your service and suggested stipends and costs are listed in the wedding guidelines book.

7) If you are need to get married here due to family but reside out of town or in another parish-you will need to be registered in that parish and they must agree to do all of the marriage Preparation work and grant permission for us to perform the wedding
